The Kumari tradition is one of the most sacred and unique living goddess traditions in the world, deeply rooted in the Newari culture of the Kathmandu Valley. Kathmandu's Royal Kumari, residing in the historic Kumari Ghar at Basantapur, is revered as the living embodiment of the goddess Taleju. Beyond the valley, Nuwakot also holds its own sacred Kumari tradition — the Nuwakot Kumari Mata, enshrined in the ancient Nuwakot Durbar area, carries centuries of divine significance and is deeply venerated by the local Newari and surrounding communities. With utmost devotion and reverence, the Binayak Foundation is honored to have offered the sacred Gaddi adorned with Mayur Hash (duck) to Nuwakot Kumari Mata.
